I realize this photo was not taken recently, but I really needed an energy boost and nothing does that for me like summer colours and sunshine. We're already well on our way to spring, and I've been noticing the days are slowly getting longer. I'm so looking forward to the time when there will still be sunlight after I get home from work.

I am so close lately to giving up on this project! Life is getting in the way, and it's starting to wear me out a little. Seems I'm coming down with a cold now to top it all off. I'm trying to stay positive and just relax with everything, because I'm sure life will get back to normal on its own time.

***have I mentioned how much I love cats in cardboard boxes??

Inspired by Kaskade's song "4am", you can listen on youtube here. One of my favourites.

I've been seriously lacking any motivation, inspiration, and anything else that goes into the drive to make art. Routine can be a major creativity killer.

I couldn't imagine my life without animals. They make mornings brighter, evenings sweeter, and life just generally better.

Unsuspecting lovebirds on the TTC.

...now that I'm looking, they don't really look like lovebirds considering the way their heads are angled away from each other, but I swear they were very cute when boarding the streetcar.

I waited at least ten minutes for this pigeon to turn around so I could catch his pretty face, but he just wouldn't do it for me. I'd like to think that he would turn around with as much dramatic flair as this little guy on youtube: "dramatic look".

A tiny sliver of colour in an otherwise brown and crunchy landscape. I admire their stubborn nature.

Sometimes even bunnies need to travel, especially when searching for love.

I went out to high park today to try to get some new stuff to work with in photoshop. I took a bunch of random photos, mostly for the sake of editing practice. This shot doesn't really have a clear concept to it. I'm not sure what drove me to remove my jacket, socks and boots and sit barefoot on the ground in below freezing temperatures, but I think it was worth it. I only wish I wasn't looking at the camera. I usually take a lot of different shots so I can pick and choose at home what I'd like to work with, but it was so cold that I couldn't sit there more than a few minutes without my boots. So, I had to work with whatever I got, and this was the result.

If anyone is curious, this is the original:

The lake water seems to be the most clean in the winter (not to mention the air quality as well). It would be so nice if we could have these qualities of winter during the long daylight hours and warmth of the summer. I guess winter needs to have some endearing qualities too though, or else I'd really hate to try taking outdoor pictures in the cold.

This is a snapshot of one of my favourite corners of the apartment. The plants spill over a comfy spot on the sofa, perfect for reading or watching those awesome animated movies (or all day weekend tv marathons that I have occasionally been guilty of watching).

This shot was taken with just a little snapshot camera, so the quality isn't as great as I'm used to, but it's much more handy to carry around than a bulky DSLR, especially when I'm enjoying a few drinks. I'm hoping to continue posting on this blog more regularly, I guess you could say it's one of my new year's resolutions. I can't believe tomorrow it's already back to the daily grind, and the most surprising part for me is that I'm actually looking forward to it.
