I tried, and tried and tried.

Think, think, think.

I just couldn't come up with anything more interesting than another cat post. Perhaps there's some kind of feline power seducing my artistic sensibilities. I gave it my best effort and even went outdoors walking around with my camera, specifically trying to get something non-cat-related, yet I failed miserably.

And so, I'm just going to go with flow and put out whatever it is that captures my interest, and hopefully it will be as interesting to most as it is to me.

I've forgotten how much I used to like experimenting and playing around with my photo edits. Lately I've just been relying on cutesy shots of my cats to get me through the week, and that just has to stop already.

(I realize this post is a cutesy Winne the Pooh dressed up as a cat. Shh.)

I have a random day off work tomorrow, and sleep is definitely on the itinerary.

These lovely flowers were a gift from one of the best birthday weekends I've ever had. It's taken me quite a few years to discover that a family dinner with my parents and my husband's family is just as much fun as going out for drinks with friends. We're so lucky to have so many awesome people in our lives.

My birthday gift arrived a few days early, and I am so in love with it! A new 50mm 1.4 lens has completely revived my interest in photography, which is amazing because I was starting to wonder where all the love had gone.

I usually hate grain in photos, but I like it when it's taken to the extreme once in a while.

The sun is slowly moving across the sky, a little farther to the right each day, and I'm loving it. This is one of maybe 20 photos I took of the entire process of the sunset as soon as the sun came below the top cloud, and I had sunspots in my eye for a good ten minutes after from looking through the lens. Probably not the smartest thing to do, especially when sunset pictures are so overdone it's almost not interesting anymore, but the fact that I see this sight from my living room means everything to me, and so...it gets posted!

Spending a quiet weekend at home feels downright luxurious. Cooking, cleaning (I swear I'm not a housewife) and relaxing on the couch. Perfection.
